I highly recommend you buy one of these sets to get a broad introduction to the benefits of eating a plant based diet as well as the pitfalls of consuming a diet that contains animal products. Center for Science in the Public Interest

The Center for Science in the Public Interest is an independent non-profit organization that publishes the Nutrition Action Newsletter that focuses on the relationship between diet, nutritional supplements, and health. A typical issue has a main article, research summaries, and comparisons of healthy vs unhealthy brands of some featured food. The back page has a "right stuff" column which describes a healthy food choice from a company or restaurant chain and a "food porn" column that describes an unhealthy food from a similiar source.

Dr. Barnard is a clinical researcher, author, and leading advocate for health, nutrition, and higher standards in research. He was the host of a PBS special, Tackling Diabetes. His Protect Your Memory DVD describes steps to boost your cognitive function with insights on how to protect your memory.

T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D.
